Airport Roadways Construction
During the summers of 2014 and 2015, the City of Saskatoon and Saskatoon Airport Authority are carrying out a $2.25 million road construction project to ease congestion and improve traffic flow in and out of Saskatoon's busy airport. While construction is underway, traffic delays are anticipated and drivers are encouraged to allow extra time to get to and from the airport. The City of Saskatoon and Saskatoon Airport Authority thank the public for their patience.

The roadway improvements include:
- Widening of Airport Drive north of 45th Street to create a double lane
- Widening of Airport Drive from south of 45th Street West to Cynthia Street to allow for better traffic flow
- Widening of 45th Street West where it approaches Airport Drive to allow for better traffic flow
- Installation of traffic lights at the intersection of 45th Street West and Airport Drive to accommodate heavier traffic flow
Between 2004 and 2014, the number of passengers using Saskatoon's airport increased by more than 82 per cent. In 2013, this meant over 1.3 million people used Saskatoon's airport and the surrounding roadways. This significant increase in use has necessitated roadway upgrades to improve airport access.
