WintercityYXE Grants
As part of the WintercityYXE Strategy, a total of $25,000 is allocated to non-profit organizations, ad hoc groups, businesses or for-profit organizations implementing initiatives that support the WintercityYXE goals and objectives.

City Park Winter Festival
Recipient: City Park Community Association
The City Park Winter Festival is a one-day event that will bring people of all ages and backgrounds in the neighbourhood together to actively celebrate winter.
Winterruption Outdoor
Recipient: Friends of the Broadway Theatre
Winterruption Outdoor is a multi-day, multi-cultural event that seeks to celebrate the fact that Saskatoon is a winter city.
Learn to Skate
Recipient: Global Gathering Place
To increase participation in physical activity over the winter months for newcomers by providing them with skating instruction and equipment in a fun learning environment.
Winter Fun Day
Recipient: Greystone Community Association
This will be our 3rd annual winter fun day in the park. We plan on doing similar activities such as in the past.
LHCA Winterfest
Recipient: Lawson Heights Community Association
The goal of the LHCA Winterfest is to ensure everyone in our community feels engaged and involved, in all seasons.
Ice Castle - Bing Chengbao
Recipient: Riversdale Business Improvement District
An Ice Castle will be built at 2020 WinterShines Festival to honour the Chinese community and their contribution to the development of Riversdale and Saskatoon as a whole. The Ice Castle will be available for viewing for the duration of the Festival form Jan 25 through Feb 2, 2020.
Holiday Park Ski Trail Upgrade Estimates
Recipient: Saskatoon Nordic Ski Club
The Nordic Ski Club will be hiring a consultant for costing of ski trail upgrades at Holiday Park Golf Course as part of the SNSC's plan to develop first class ski facility at Gordie Howe Sports Complex and area.
Winter Family Day Carnival
Recipient: The Neighbourhood Church
This event is targeted for families in Saskatoon to have fun inside and outside in the community. It’s a free event for families to enjoy!
Yay! It’s Winter
Recipient: Saskatoon Open Door Society
This activity will introduce newcomer immigrants and refugees to fun winter activities so that they can enjoy the outdoors, remain active and develop a positive attitude towards winter.
Kona Winter Festival
Recipient: Wanuskewin Heritage Park
2020 will be Wanuskewin’s third annual Kona Winter Festival. The Kona Winter Festival is a one-day event that offers opportunities for the public to engage in traditional winter-based activities offered through an Indigenous lens.
