History

Saskatoon is central Saskatchewan’s great crossroads; a hub for water, rail, and highway crossings east and west, north and south.  There is evidence suggesting this area has been continuously inhabited for the last 11,000 years.

The City of Saskatoon Archives works to preserve and provide access to the historical records of the City of Saskatoon.

Nutana Cemetery (Pioneer Cemetery)

The Nutana Cemetery was the first cemetery, established in 1884, for the pioneers of Saskatoon. The last burial took place in 1948.
