As temperatures warm and with spring officially here today, City crews continue removing snow to help reduce drainage issues, dry up roads and prepare for spring street sweeping and pothole repairs.

Fewer potholes are expected this year if roads continue to dry up in conjunction with a slower spring melt. This is partly because of City Council’s multi-million dollar investments in road rehabilitation and protective maintenance over the past several years.

Saskatoon Transit runs every day, no matter the weather. Transit operators are responsible for the safe transportation of nearly 40,000 of our city’s citizens every day. Though we strive to recognize their work every day, we would like to take a moment TODAY, March 18th on Transit Driver Appreciation Day to salute all those at Saskatoon Transit who help us to provide public transportation to the City of Saskatoon each and every day.

March 17, 2019 - 11:00pm

Due to warmer weather and melting conditions, the Northeast snow storage site on Central Avenue north of Attridge Drive is inaccessible. It will remain closed until further notice. The Northwest location on Wanuskewin Road is being monitored, but remains open at this time. The Civic Operations Centre snow management facility also remains open 24/7, located on Valley Road, west of the Saskatoon Landfill access.
