City crews monitoring roads to prevent icy conditions
Saskatoon may get a sneak preview of winter this weekend. City crews are on stand-by to keep freeways and intersections clear of snow, with sand and salt on hand to prevent ice from forming if necessary. Because temperatures haven’t dropped below zero much this fall, the ground is still holding heat that will minimize the formation of ice. The snow is expected to create wet and slushy roads. Up to ten plows and fifteen graders are ready to go to address possible worsening road conditions.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and use caution in these weather conditions.
