Kinsmen Park archway sign upgrade starting Tuesday, May 14, 2019
The Kinsmen Park Archway Sign located at the intersection of Kinsmen Avenue and 25th Street will undergo upgrades. The Archway Sign was listed in the Kinsmen Park Master Plan as an item that should be assessed with the intent of preserving and restoring the landmark, which has been part of the park since the 1950s.
Within the Archway Sign upgrade project, the sign will be removed from its foundation, and taken off site to be sand-blasted and re-painted. The masonry piers and support structure will be replaced and the sign will be re-installed.
On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, crews will begin the restoration process of the Kinsmen Park Archway Sign. Kinsmen Avenue will be closed and restrictions to 25th Street will occur from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. to allow for crews to remove the Kinsmen Park Archway Sign and take it off site.
