Reminder: City Hall services to close at 4:30 p.m. on Federal Election Day, Monday, October 21, 2019
The City of Saskatoon advises that City Hall public-facing services will close at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 21, Federal Election Day.
Other City of Saskatoon public-facing services such as the landfill, both compost depot locations, and the municipal impound lot will also close at 4:30.
In accordance with The Canada Elections Act, all eligible voters are entitled to three consecutive hours off work while polls are open for the purpose of casting their vote. Polling stations close at 7:30 p.m, therefore City Hall services will close at 4:30 p.m.to ensure that staff has the required time off to vote.
A reminder, Saskatoon Transit and Access Transit will both offer free service on Monday, October 21.
Download or print this pass to receive free transit service on October 21, 2019. Printed copies of the pass can be picked up at the Transit Customer Service Centre, public libraries and Civic Leisure Centres.
The free transit pass must be shown to the operator before patrons gain free access to transit. A printed pass is not mandatory; the pass can be displayed on a mobile phone and children can travel with parents who are showing a pass. Individuals who do not have a pass will be required to pay the standard fare.
