Subscription Green Cart program set to begin Friday, May 3
As the spring clean-up continues in Saskatoon, residents are encouraged to put their waste in the right place. To help with this, the City is preparing to kick off another Green Cart season, providing residents the opportunity to divert their yard and food waste from the Landfill. The optional fee-for-service program offers convenient front-street bi-weekly collection from May 3 to November 7, 2019 for current Black and Blue Cart customers.
Residents are still able to get in on the $55 Early Bird rate if they subscribe by April 30. On May 1, the subscription fee will increase to $75. To ensure faster processing time, residents are encouraged to subscribe online.
The program begins Friday, May 3. Residents are encouraged to check the online collection calendar for their scheduled pick-up days. For registrations submitted after April 26, the City cannot guarantee service on the first collection day. For new subscribers, it may take up to four weeks after receipt of payment for Green Cart delivery.
Residents are reminded that not all yard and food waste is accepted in their Green Carts under the current program. A list of acceptable items can be found at Saskatoon.ca/greencart or the Waste Wizard can be used to search for specific items and find proper disposal information.
