The City has lowered flags in civic facilities in honour of Saskatchewan’s 22nd Lieutenant-Governor, W. Thomas Molloy, who passed away on July 2 following a battle with cancer.

“I had the real privilege of sharing many meals and stages with Lieutenant-Governor Tom Molloy over the last several months,” said Mayor Clark. “He used every speech as a chance to enlighten, to challenge, and to bring us together, to be stronger as a province. He did this throughout his career, right across the country. I thank him for always working to bring out the best in us.”

The City’s summer youth centres open for the season on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  All youth, ages 12 to 16, are invited to drop in for sports and games, listen to music, participate in special events, or hang out with friends in a friendly environment supervised by fun, qualified leaders.

Youth centres are free to attend.  Unless otherwise stated, hours of operation are Monday to Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until August 16, 2019 (closed Monday, August 5, 2019).

Youth Centre Locations:

The City’s 47 summer playground programs will be starting on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  A list of locations are available on the Where to Play interactive map at saskatoon.ca/play.

Designed for 2 to 12 year olds, these free drop-in programs include water play, sports, crafts, games, music and much more.  Playground programs operate rain or shine, Mondays to Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. through to Friday, August 23, 2019.
