The City’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Intercultural Association, is now accepting nominations for the annual “Living in Harmony” Awards, which recognizes local organizations or individuals for their efforts in the elimination of racial discrimination.  The entry deadline for submissions and nominations is Friday, March 8, 2019. Committee members will select the winning entries/nominations.

Starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, the eastbound lanes of Queen Street between 9th Avenue and Spadina Crescent will be closed for sewer lining work. The road is expected to reopen in the evening, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

She is recognized nationally for her innovative work connecting professional artists and communities to create, present, and experience art together.

The Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval will be wrapping up for the season on Sunday, March 10, 2019.

The City of Saskatoon thanks citizens for their patronage. Public skating at the indoor municipal rinks will be available until Sunday, March 31, 2019. Visit saskatoon.ca/dropinonline for the public skating schedule.

Through the Smart Cities Challenge, the Government of Canada has tasked communities of all sizes to come forward with their best ideas to improve the lives of their residents through innovation, data and connected technology.  A smart city enables its citizens to use technology to make smart decisions.

In April 2018, Saskatoon submitted an initial proposal and was selected as one of the finalists for a chance to win $10 million (category: communities with populations under 500,000), to be used for implementing all aspects of a proposed plan.
