The Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval offers an exciting change of pace - and scenery - for skating enthusiasts. You do not need speed skates to come out and enjoy the 400 m Oval, as there are different lanes available for different speeds, and plenty of overall room for every level of skater. New, improved facilities are under construction, and in the meantime, a temporary warm-up shack is available for skaters to change their skates. Admission is FREE.
Fun Fact: The Oval was named after the first coach of the Saskatoon Lions Speed Skating Club, which operates the facility in cooperation with the City of Saskatoon.
